STUDENT OPPORTUNITY: Flash Run Volunteer Call Out

COFA is seeking volunteers to participate in a flash mob which will take place in the CBD on Mon, Jun 10.

The event will be part of a collaborative artwork by MAP Office (Hong Kong), and the Running the City exhibition.

The first 250 people to register will receive a flash run t-shirt designed by the artists.

BEAMS Arts Festival 2012

BEAMS Arts Festival 2013 will focus on the themes of revitalisation and new world cities.

It will be held on Sat, Sept 21, 2013 and they are currently seeking artists who are interested in developing a project.

Performance Space and Team MESS are looking for a volunteer film crew for BINGO Unit, which will run at at Carriageworks from July 2- 13.

BINGO Unit is an interactive, multimedia police drama experience inviting you to explore your inner good or bad cop.

They are seeking volunteers for the Pre-Production Location Shoots (July 2 – 6, 5 x 6 hour shoots) and Public Performances (July 9 – 13, 6 x 4 hour performance calls).

STUDENT OPPORTUNITY: 2013 KOFFIA Short Film Competition call for entries

The KOFFIA Short Film Competition is seeking entries from filmmakers of any cultural background.

You can submit a film that incorporates Korea in any of these ways:

  • Theme, story or topic of the film is based around Korea
  • A member of the main production staff is Korean
  • The film incorporates Korean Language and/or Culture

There are various cash prizes and awards on offer, including:

First prize: $2,000 cash
Second prize: $1,000 cash
Third prize: $500 cash

STUDENT OPPORTUNITY: Work with artist Paul Gazzola

As part of COFA’s involvement in ISEA2013Paul Gazzola will be an artist in residence.

He is looking for student and staff volunteers to assist with his work Experimental Body Extension Manufacturing Unit.

The work will explore ideas about physical body extensions and construct prototypes of ‘Wearable Hybrid Body Augmentations’, partly made from discarded material sources.

If you are interested in working with Paul Gazzola, he will be giving a presentation on Thurs, May 16 at COFA in seminar room F205. All COFA staff and students are invited to attend.

STUDENT OPPORTUNITY: Solid Ground II Artist Call Out

At The Vanishing Point gallery in Newtown are calling for artists to submit proposals to exhibit in Solid Ground II.

The exhibition focuses on the current debates surrounding asylum seekers and refugees within Australia.

Writers are also encouraged to express interest for the accompanying zine.

The Sydney Underground Film Festival is on at the Factory Theatre from Sept 5-8, 2013.

They are currently seeking film submissions. There are no restrictions on genre, style, length or year of production.

STUDENT OPPORTUNITY: Volunteer at Running the City

COFA is seeking volunteers to invigilate works at the Running the City exhibition which will be held on campus from Jun 7-16.

Volunteers will be required to invigilate works in the Ivan Dougherty Gallery, the Black Box (in the Photomedia department) and COFAspace.

You should be able to commit to two shifts over the exhibition period. Shifts are 10am-3pm or 3pm-8pm and will involve multiple venues, interactive artworks and audience participation.

The exhibition is part of ISEA2013 and the first week of the conference at COFA will consist of workshops, international speakers and events, creating an exciting buzz around campus.

STUDENT OPPORTUNITY: Threesome Exhibition Sydney call for submissions

The Design Kids are looking for twenty Sydney based current design students and design graduates (graduated five years ago or less), to work with Sydney’s top creatives and studios.

You will work on a collaboration in the form of a Typographic Treasure Hunt with a creative or a studio.

To apply, submit a four page landscape PDF that includes one page detailing where you are studying, your CV and contact details, and 3 pages of your work with a focus on typography.
